Rambox is an open source, free and cross-platform email and messaging application which combine many popular web apps in one. Currently available for Windows, Linux and Mac. It is ideal for those who need a robust IM service but do not wish to commit to a specific IM client. Users can use the Web based client to access various online accounts such as MySpace, Gmail, Facebook and Twitter. However, users need to remember they are not allowed to install or run the software on their own computers, as it is illegal to do so in the UK. This means that it is also not legal to install the application onto any computer you may own.
A unique feature of the software is that it is entirely compatible with the operating systems that you already have on your computer, such as Windows, Mac or Linux. You just need to log in to your account and sign in from your computer with your preferred IM provider. The application does not require installation on your PC, nor does it require you to install any software on your PC.
There are several versions of the Rambox application for Mac, Windows and Linux, as well as Windows Mobile. It is best if you test the application on Windows before trying it out on Mac or Linux. The applications come with different user interfaces to make them easy to use and navigate. There is also a 'setup' feature to allow you to connect and download the application for free. Once installed, users will be able to connect and chat through various services like MySpace, My Facebook, My Twitter, and Gmail. These users can choose to create groups or simply send messages. There is also the option to create private groups which allow you to chat with friends without them being able to see any of your messages.
